Soar

For NewExperiments • Another sunny day! We grabbed a quick breakfast at Panera Bread before going for a walk, then shopped for groceries; once home with everything put away we headed to the river armed with camera and binoculars • The boat landing was quiet so we drove north to Hallowell. Directly across the river from where we parked is a tall evergreen where eagles are often visible. Today we noticed a large nest! It’s likely been there all along but the sunlight must have hit it just right. Probably an hour passed before MrsP noticed a head, then suddenly a second eagle appeared to take over egg laying duties. The first one immediately took to the air towards our side of the river up into a tree quite a distance behind us. Her/His feathers were noticeably disheveled so much preening was done. She/He appeared to be resting when we left • Peace & Love
