Worth the Effort
Our Winged-elm tree is putting out lots of tiny new green leaves. I'll assume that squirrels find them very tasty even though they can be a challenge to reach. The newest/tiniest leaves at the very end of thin branches are apparently the tastiest. Each year 'specialist' squirrels spend quality time feasting on them and I never see more than four squirrels on the tree at once.
