Roll With It

Away Day

A full day for Sam, Josh and I started with the monthly Veterans Breakfast, this month at the Cornish Barista at Halvasso. Mrs S and I were there on Wednesday so I looked forward to it, with an extra egg and hash brown I had my full daily quota of calories in one go.
At the till paying I was pleasantly surprised to see Lily, daughter of family friend and ‘Blipper’ “Roly”, working in a hot kitchen where thirty quality breakfasts were produced, good for her.

Next stop for the three of us was Bude Rugby Club, around an hours drive up the north coast. Falmouth, playing in the first round of the Papa John Cup, had a reasonable expectation that they might sneak a win against the team that finished one place above them in the league.
“Sneak a win” was hardly what happened next. Competing for everything, dominating in the scrum, doing the basics well and playing better than I’ve seen them all season they completely overwhelmed Bude. Joshua enjoyed “running the line”, Sam enjoyed a beer or two.
Next up Penryn, a different proposition from Bude but you never know!

With Mrs S needing to leave for work the three of us headed home to take over ‘Paddy Watch’ duties. Sam remained at home, Josh and I headed up to Falmouth Rugby Club for a beer, bit eerie just the two of us watching European and sharing a beer or two.

Enjoyed my day with my two youngest immensely.
