From coast to cove

This year, more than any before, winter outstayed her welcome. Every sign of spring’s approach has felt like a perceptible step towards hope, becoming the foundation upon which we might rebuild our lives.
Waiting for the kettle to boil, I open the kitchen window to be greeted by the resounding drum of a woodpecker.
Almost there now.
