Stairway to ...

As is often the case, I thought I knew what I'd blip today for the song title challenge, Stairway to Heaven. We have a lot of eclectic outside stairways in our neighborhood - mostly of the mosaic type - so I scooted around photographing my favorites, which I put in this Flickr set.

But when Liza and I arrived at the park, we saw that the maple tree that I'd blipped Sunday was being cut down. Apparently it was deemed too unsafe to leave standing. Sad - but I'd rather that than someone getting hurt - or worse - from another falling limb.

The tree cutter was a master - I had so much fun watching him, he was like a monkey swinging from branch to branch. And me without my zoom. Well, I was still able to get some halfway decent shots of his antics hard work. He looked like he was having fun too. A couple more of him here and here.
