Spider monkey

We visited the botanical gardens today....a very beautiful place, quiet and mostly in shade....hardly any one else was there.   we are so grateful to have arrived at the end of the busy tourist season!!!   Lots of beautiful palms, ferns etc., some small archaeological ruins and lots of iguanas....and some quite large, skittering about all over the place!!!   Then in one area we head some movement above us...and sure enough there was a small family of spider monkeys.....this was the best image i got, they moved a lot and there was just too many trees in the way..but it was thrilling to see them and hear them!

We are definitely moving about much slower than our usual pace...this kind of heat is so powerful.
