A visit with Sal

One of my best friends was in town for a few days. We grew up together here in Laramie and we both have moved off. She still has a brother here and since I am back now I can see her when she comes to visit. I took the afternoon off from school. We went out for coffee and then to her brother's house to cook dinner, chat and drink wine. We made kabobs with some chicken cooked separately, broccoli and rice. Yum!!! It was a great little visit. Her father recently passed and she is also back on this anniversary to do a few things.
In other news, my mom is in Colorado and had a pace maker put in today. She texted afterwards and was happily munching cheese and crackers. She'll spend the night there and then Catherine will drive her home tomorrow. This is to help keep her pulse up a bit so she gets more oxygen in her blood and hopefully some more energy.
