Travelling Trophy

This replica trophy was presented in 1938 to Mrs F Ackroyd the first winner of the Ladies' Scratch Competition at Filey Golf Club. Recently a teacher from the local Junior School visited Shropshire to attend his Grandmother's funeral. At the funeral he met an ex girlfriend of his Father's. Her Auntie Daphne was the second Mrs Ackroyd and the Father's ex had found the cup when she was clearing Auntie Daphne's house. She kindly sent the cup back via the local teacher. Amazing!
