Tulip Festival, Morges

Every year during part of April into May, there is a stunning Tulip Festival in the lakeside town of Morges.  This is a very beautiful big park with many big trees. It runs along the lake and the flower show is out of this world!

I went with a friend and we were blessed with incredible perfect weather and early summer temperatures.  I knew we had to get there early before the crowds starting coming in!  We left Lausanne before 8 am and were in the park shortly after 8. It was perfect as hardly anybody had arrived.

 We had a drink on the outside terrace before making our way to a restaurant serving delicious Greek food. We also ate outside.

A marvellous day indeed: Colourful flowers, lakeside beauty, a delicious array of Greek salads and so nice to go with a friend, a girl (we're all girls, right?!) from our walking group. She also lives on her own with grown-up children.
