1913 Diary
This diary belonged to Lieutenant Desmond Arthur.
Desmond Arthur was the first aviator to be killed while flying in Scotland. He died when he was thrown from his aircraft due to a mechanical fault. He is buried in Sleepyhillock Cemetery in Montrose.
There are various items of his at the museum and we’re in the process of upgrading the display. Including have a typewritten version of his diary to allow visitors to read it easily.
