The last plant sale

Just finished icing all the cakes for my contribution to the teas tomorrow at Chris’s Open Garden/Plant sale. We normally need about 160 slices of cake. These will yield about 80 slices. A couple of other girls are making cakes, as well as Chris. This will be her last open garden for the NGS. It is at Edge Nr Shrewsbury from 2-5 tomorrow. She has decided that it is time to downsize from her stunning three acre garden and house. She has found herself an allotment nearby, so will be happy to potter rather than do the five hours a day each that she and her husband do at the moment. I have been helping her for over 30 years and she has made a huge amount of money for various charities. She was awarded the BEM about 6 years ago for her service to charity.
