T is for tobacco leaf…

On each side of the roof of the lower market is a lightening conductor in the shape of a tobacco leaf. Underneath the lower market was the Bonded Store and the tobacco leaves represent the impôt duty the island received from storing tobacco which helped finance the building of the markets.
