Off to our first theme park. Up reasonable early, and chose to do the main Universal Studios park (keeping Harry Potter for another day). The big new ride there is Transformers 3D.
Started our warm up with a simple Shrek 4D to get us in the mood.
Then started wandering around the park...unfortunately it started to rain quite a bit...so nipped into the Disaster Movie ride to take the underground through the earthquake, exploding tanker and raging flood. Happily we all survived!
Rain was back off, so wandered on off to the back of the park...but Jaws is now gone :). I guess the plastic shark has had its day! So we took the modern twist and headed to MIB (Men in Black). Everyone was shooting away at the aliens on the ride. Of course, L had the highest score, with D, me, KT and K following in order (K claimed not to understand...what's not to understand about blasting aliens with a laser gun!).
Feeling peckish...it was time to head to Krusky Burger for some Krusty Burgers! L and D had "Clogger Burgers"...I think something to do with the arteries....but it certainly wasn't the Heart Attack Grill.
Off to "The Mummy" to get scared in a backwards rollercoaster....then it was time for Transformers. The queue said it was down to 90 minutes...but it still took us 2 hours to queue....was it worth it? Well the ride was pretty spectacular...but wasn't as good as Harry Potter.
Rain was still coming and going, so we headed to "Fear Factor Live", followed by the Simpsons ride...then it was time to call it a day.
We went home to get changed, but L was too tired to come out for tea and just fell asleep there and then.
