Torrisdale Beach from above the ice house
First of all, thanks for the big love for yesterday's sunrise blip. After all of that, I managed an amazing sleep last night.
We've had a great day out heading north, east and then west. After a proper breakfast, we headed to Lairg and then Altnaharra, before turning along Loch Naver and Strathnaver. We stopped off on numerous occasions to look at various bits of the Strathnaver trail, although we vowed to return and do one of the clearances walks. After coffee at the Clachan cafe, we visited the Strathnaver museum, and then headed into Bettyhill to find the ice house. I climbed up behind the ice house and enjoyed this amazing view of Torrisdale beach across the river.
Various other deviations followed, before we checked in to our accommodation (Tongue Hotel). At that point, I left Mr A in the room and walked over to Castle Varrich, to enjoy an excellent view of the Kyle of Tongue.
Dinner in the hotel restaurant concluded a day of sunshine, high wind, and warm temperatures. From our hotel room we can now see an excellent sunset.
