Wild Garlic
As a student I worked as a ranger at Culzean Country Park in Ayrshire from May to September 1973, which I admit was a long time ago.
It was a formative experience, and I remember so much about it, including the strong spring-time smell of wild garlic in the woodlands It is also, as I discovered later, great to cook with.
There is a lot around here in Argyll but for some reason we have never had any growing at Feorlean.
However a bit of trial and error has - at long last - resulted in two clumps flowering this year, with the hope of much more in years to come.
