Journies at home

Tullymore

Storm Kathleen foiled our attempt to climb to the top of Slieve Donard.

The high winds left us with two options; to stay indoors (and fester) or to go to Tullymore and risk having a tree drop on our heads.  We chose the latter.

We got out of the car in a squall.  Mu looked me up and down and said I looked like I'd just come out of a nightclub in the early hours of the morning.  I couldn't quite see it myself.

We walked to the edge of the forest where everything changes abruptly and trees give way to the mountains.  We put 10 kms in our legs and headed to the seafront for lunch while the weather lurched between sun and rain.
