monolith
a child's modern Lascaux on rusted walls of the People's Car.
This VW van has been in our parking garage for two days now, right at the turn going up to our place. It's been stranded for whatever reason, though I know these old busses are notorious for breaking down (at least my friend's in high school did...all the time). But I love the fingerpaintings, the children's names. The stained curtain. The state park and brewery stickers. On the back windshield there is another giant sticker right across the center that simply says: I <3 Texas (of course it's a red heart, not a sideways less-than sign and the number three). It's been a nice little piece of odd art greeting me upon the return home, much nicer on the eyes than the ostentatious BMWs, Lexuses (Lexi?), Mercedes, Porsches, Land Rovers, and Audis that usually litter the ramp home.
