First Taste of Ice Cream

Today we got up early and left NYC (thank God!) and drove to our very dear friends' dairy farm in Pennsylvania. We have been friends forever. They've been waiting to meet a little baby Apple for about 10 years! ;)

Since it is such a special place for us, and since well, frankly, ice cream is DELICIOUS, I decided that we could give BabyApple a little taste of ice cream as her very first food despite the fact that she's not yet ready for solid foods.

I gave her a tiny little taste on my spoon (Mississippi Mud Pie) and once she got a taste she reached out and GRABBED the spoon with both hands and was so excited to shove as much as possible into her mouth! Mr. Apple captured a great series of photos that included this one of both my (and Bri's) genuine surprise, delight, and amazement that she did this! So, here she is getting her first taste of food while being held by the farmer who grew everything that the cows ate to make this milk that he turned into ice cream not 15 feet from where this photo was taken. Amazing.
