Oreganos

Bought a bunch of oreganos in the market on Saturday as mine had run out, and spent a lot of this morning stripping the flowers off the stalks and putting into jars; the stripped stalks on the right have been put into our olives to give more flavour and health benefits.

Which are many - one is anti-inflammatory, so have been massaging oregano oil into my painful thumb (made worse again by the stripping), think it might be helping.

Alentejano cuisine uses a lot of oregano, as well as coriander and pennyroyal (a type of mint).

Gratefuls:
- my yellow rose bush covered in blooms
- lovely chat with Julia and Eden (she's been on nights)
- bit more rain; we have never seen the Alqueva so full, it's amazing, see how close it is to our house here

And the whole house smelling of oregano - it's all over the floor, deliberately not swept it up.

And, if you want to see some good photos of the eclipse, here is my b-i-l's Blip of it.
