High Pressure Hose
My cousin's husband has a number of toys, including an airport fire engine he uses to water the garden. This morning he got it out to play with after breakfast. CyclopsJnr was delighted to sit in the drivers seat and operate the light and siren, and go for a small ride in the field. Then he helped connect it to the water supply (specially built borehole) to fill it up.
We went for a lovely walk in the New Forest with my Uncle and Aunt, then went for lunch at the Sailing Club in Lymington.
Later we went and played with the fire engine some more (including the big steerable spray and the high pressure hose) before going to sit around a fire with a drink in a little bluebell wood at the bottom of the field. CyclopsJnr was delighted to be given a Swiss Army Knife as a gift and promptly set about whittling things while the grownups talked. He retained all his fingers so that seems to have been a success.
As well as the fire engine there is a Gator (wee off-road buggy) for carrying firewood and the like which CyclopsJnr was delighted to whizz around in whenever he could find an an adult to join him and operate the throttle pedal (which he couldn't reach) while he steered.
We ended the day with a very exciting (and somewhat raucous - the adults may have had wine with dinner) game of Zombie Dice. CyclopsJnr won two out of three, but as R won the last one he tried to convince us all he was the reigning champion... I won none.
