Picnic Anyone?

We needed to pop out to the lodge as I'd forgotten to leave the visitors their complimentary bottle of Prosecco. While we were out we thought we'd come home via Ullswater as it's only a few miles from the lodge.

We parked in the Aira Force car park and walked down to the shore. Oh, gosh! Was it breezy? I've never been so buffeted by the wind or see waves forming so high on the lake, particularly near Pooley Bridge.

We didn't spend long down there, neither did the other couple who went ahead of us. We were so glad to get back into the car.
