More flower experimenting

Today I plucked another flower from the garden, popped it into a little vase, and had a lot of fun fiddling around with focus, DOF, backlighting, etc, etc. Finally decided to go for soft around the edges and sharp in the center. It is very different from yesterday's effort. What do you think? I would love some feedback. It was truly an exercise in applying some of the techniques I am learning in my photo class.
