Parked on the edge

A relaxing day today. Renata and I went for a walk down Xwaaqw'um and luckily avoided the rain. We even got a few minutes of sun! These bikes were locked up on the edge of the narrow road down to the dock. We watched the final of the NCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball Final, an exciting game! It was fun to watch with Renata. Basketball was my and her sport. I played and coached for years until we moved to this island. I coached her from elementary school through high school and played with her on a senior women's team for a year. She played at UVIC. So much fun! We were almost as noisy as we watched as we were at Kalyn's tournament yesterday. 
It's been great to have Renata here by herself. We always enjoy her company. She leaves around 5:15am tomorrow to catch the ferry from Long Harbour to the mainland. Plenty for her to do at home, so it's good to get the early start.
