Gardeners' Fair on Market Street
With the advent of Spring, the marketing arm of Charnwood Borough Council turns to thoughts on how to monetise and popularise the theme of markets. Last year, we had concerts in the park. I hope they resume. In the meantime, outdoor shows are held to encourage visitors into Loughborough.
It certainly worked today despite stalls in the marketplace being removed because of the threat of high winds. That didn't deter the exhibitors who packed out Wards End and Market Street. The Carillon Centre, the Town Hall, and the Odeon cinema also opened their doors to exhibitors.
It all made for a super day out. Wards End was particularly abuzz.
I bought three pieces of cheese from a lady who was selling Lincolnshire Poacher, including a home made Halloumi.
After a latte at Olivia's on Market Street, we returned home. It began to rain mid-afternoon.
