African Penguins
Two delightfully loved up penguins on Boulder Beach this morning.
We are staying in an hotel very near the Waterfront which makes it easy for boat trips and restaurants in the middle of the hubbub that is Cape Town. Hubs found us a driver for the day and he has given us a tour down to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. The scenery was glorious especially the water and waves in the brilliant sunshine.
We saw the ostriches, took the funicular up to the peak of Cape Point and drove slowly trying to spot the baboons but were unsuccessful on that score.
It was too windy by far to go up Table Mountain but we drove up the Lions Head Trail to get a view overlooking the city and across at Table Mountain. The wind gusts were phenomenal. Yes it was windy generally but up high I found myself having to hug a tree in order to stay upright. It was scary frankly especially as we were not only high but driving down a narrow road with a precipitous drop and I wasn't too sure we wouldn't get blown off the edge.
A great day!
