Bocas del Toro, Caribbean

We had a good walk around Boquete this morning - papaya and bananas grow in abundance and the village is surrounded by coffee bushes growing on the hillsides.  There was lots of exotic birds and flowers.  Coincidentally there’s been a flower and coffee festival in the village this week - very colourful!

Our onward journey was a hefty one, over the mountains to Almirante Port and then 30 minutes by speedboat to the Bocas del Toro islands in the Caribbean.

We’re staying in a very nice hotel with these gorgeous views.

Panama's elections are next month and you see the supporting flags of the Democratic Revolutionary Party everywhere - apparently the voting turnout in their elections is around 75%.
