Talk on "Buying a Persian Carpet"

Our American Women's Association had a really interesting talk by a local carpet merchant. He showed us stunning carpets and explained what makes a good carpet and what to look for. The colors were fantastic and he told us that the shading was important in making a good carpet and showed us some which were wool tribal carpets and used home made dyes, like the one in the photo, where the wools have been dyed in different batches and do not match up.....this is sign of an expensive tribal carpet......unless of course it's a fake! He was a good speaker and it was a fascinating meeting.
