Mastermind

We happened upon the Australian version of Mastermind recently and have become pleasantly addicted to it. Mastermind and a glass of wine - a pleasant start to the evening.
 
The original BBC TV quiz show on which the Australian Mastermind is based began in 1972 and is still going. It’s creator drew on his own experiences of being interrogated by the Gestapo. The black interrogation chair, dark set and intense lights are all intended to create an atmosphere of menace and intimidation. The theme music is called ‘Approaching menace’. In spite of all that, it’s not remotely scary and it’s fun to pit your wits against the participants.
