Thank you all for your stars, advice and kind comments. I have not contacted my Gp, the chances of getting an appointment are very slim; and I’m not in sufficient discomfort to venture to a&e yet. I have a compression sock which has helped and a pair of (tiny tim-style) crutches which Im getting the swing of!
