Horse chestnut

New leaves have sprouted on the horse chestnut in the last week and it won’t be long before the iconic white flowers appear. This tree has grown up from a sapling since we first came here in the 1960s.
While I was round the back of the house I could see to the bottom of the pit over our boundary. I could see that there is water at the bottom which only happens every few years when the water table is very high. I took a photo (extra) but you can only just see the water as it is very overgrown down there.
