Texture, Curves and Form

One of the local areas where I like to walk contains areas of ancient, largely  undisturbed woodland. The fallen oak branches lie twisted on the woodland floor. This one has caught my eye before and today I had the opportunity to take some photographs of it. I tried to capture the wonderful curves, textures and form. The light was not ideal and they were all single, hand-held images. This one seemed to suit black and white, and captures some of the mystery of it's strange appearance.
