At your own risk

I seriously underestimated the global fascination with Mary Queen of Scots, especially popular in Japan apparently. Unfortunately the only fact I can recall after a morning’s conversation with my historian pal is that she was 5’11’’. Her French mother was almost 6’.

We completed the first part of the Mary Queen of Scot’s Trail which included Crookston Castle, wonderfully free of health and safety imperatives. There were 3 sets of iron ladders leading up to the different levels which took some agility and a head for heights to negotiate. There was no “at your own risk ‘ disclaimer which might have been a good idea. I think it will make for a great leisurely 6 mile ramble finishing in the garden at the Queens Park glasshouses overlooking the Battle of Langside site.

Back home mid afternoon, put together a yogurt based Eton Mess for supper with lovely neighbours from which I have just returned accompanied by a gorgeous pink cyclamen, my favourite flower, and the Cypriot national flower.
