Tiny Tuesday - CD-ROM

This is part of the surface of a CD - actually a CD-ROM as it contains data. There are lots of tracks made up of lots of tiny pits. These are really tiny and are too small to see. The tracks diffract light, splitting it into the colours of the rainbow. This photo was taken with two light sources, off to the left. Slight movements of the light sources can make dramatic differences to the colours. Thanks to JDO for hosting Tiny Tuesday.
