The Monsoon Has Arrived!!!

As I turned right onto my street a drop landed on my windshield. I started to get excited. Then another drop. I thought to myself, could this be happening? Then the boom of thunder...and the clouds poured forth.

I took this photo from my garage before I went into the house to celebrate. I could hardly contain my excitement. I turned off all my fans and my air conditioning in order to have it perfectly quiet in the house. I wanted to hear the wind rattling the house and the rain pelting the skylights and windows.

I went into the bedroom to put on my pj's but decided to just go into the living room, opened the back door so that the wind was blowing in and pretended I was dancing naked in the rain!

When I stopped feeling silly, I stood (dressed) in front of the opened door and just let the wind, now cool and from the storm that blew through, gently buffet me as I breathed it in deeply. The air smelled so fresh.

I watched the impressive lightening show over the mountains as the sky turned into night. I'm looking forward to the rain that will kick down the temperatures late each day this week, even though the highs won't be any cooler than they've been.
