Hole in one

Got this for Mrs CH about a decade ago as a works anniversary gift.
Today it was taken out of the box.
Today it was plugged in.
Today it was used in a lot of anger.
Second day of Mrs CH's holiday and the body has noticed.
So I was hauled in to read the instructions and work out how to thread the needle.
Fortunately it has this handy built in device that with the aid of glasses, large magnifier and a lot of light, makes the job easy.
One test piece later to check that this time it would work and we switched it off and went and did something else.
