We eventually managed to get out of the house and travelled East to Lübbenau in the Spreewald. The area is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. It is also a bilingual area, German and Sorbian. We walked along a path through the forest to an inn that is only reachable via tracks or by boat. One of the highlights was seeing a little grass snake swimming through the water. It was absolutely lovely walking through the spring forest that is starting to get green. I must admit a also enjoyed seeing the old railway infrastructure at the station. There was a loco shed with turntable, all slowly crumbling away (see extra). It's not far from Berlin especially since we already have a train ticket that will get us there.
