Easter Monday
Yesterday was an Easter Sunday I will remember. I spent a lot of it first walking and then, towards sunset, running in Pollok Park beside the river hoping to spot the elusive otters. Maybe they prefer it when it’s noisy with chatter, bikes and dogs. I watched the kingfishers who appear to be nesting 20 metres upstream from their usual site. It seems an odd choice since it’s so much closer to the water line and prone to flooding, perhaps they use different nests for their multiple broods.
I had just finished my evening run and was on my way to Morrisons to get Easter Monday lunch for the family when the nursing home rang and S suggested I should visit. Robert had deteriorated significantly since I’d last seen him on Thursday. He died unexpectedly quickly an hour or so after I left. An event I have been rehearsing for some time.
It’s been a somewhat chaotic day with son number 1 and family here for lunch as planned, and son number 2 surprising me by arriving too which was lovely.
Islay dog has had her spring haircut and happily snoozed amongst the fuzzy felt.
