The Lunar Society #2

Today we returned to Hopesay, just over a year since our failed attempt to buy a house nearby. Our objective was to walk over Hopesay hill and up to the Burrow, another huge Iron Age hillfort. However I couldn't resist a visit to St Mary's church and the stained glass window by Simon Howard. Installed in 2012 it is a memorial to Thomas Beddoes the 18th century Shropshire physician/scientist and his poet son (also Thomas Beddoes). I've blipped parts of this window before (here and here) but not the topmost panel which reflects the fact that the elder Thomas Beddoes was a member of the influential Lunar Society of Birmingham.
