...seen yesterday when looking for a blip for DDW's "surprise", but when I got it back home I discovered the shot was out of focus.

So I was delighted to discover that it was still there this morning - despite quite a strong breeze overnight. No idea what kind of flower it is, but it's impaled upon a thistle.

As they say in these parts - if you can't fight, wear a big hat.
