Roll away the stone
It's rather irreverent, I know, but this scene of the empty tomb, and the stone that sealed it rolled to one side, inevitably puts the earworm of Mott the Hoople's classic single, Roll Away The Stone, into my brain. Which is a great shame as there is so much uplifting Eastertide music to enjoy, not least Bach's St John's Passion which is being broadcast on BBC2 as I type. I was helping my wife with church transport this morning, collecting one elderly lady in my car to take to the service and pushing Gloria back to her home afterwards. I managed to nab a piece of Simnel cake from the coffee and cake table in the church hall as my reward. The Easter tableau was on display just by the steps leading up to the altar. I didn't stay for the service as there is still a lot of clearing to be done in preparation for the new kitchen.
