Saving for Later
Today I canned rhubarb. Our favorite way to eat it is cooked with strawberries to make a "sauce" to put on ice cream or with yogurt. Yum! I love its tart flavor and red color.
Rhubarb is so easy to work with - easy to grow (comes up faithfully every year), easy to pick (just pull out the stalks and break off the top leaf), easy to clean (rinse it off), and easy to can (water bath 10 minutes, no pressure canner).
