Sun On the Mountain

You need to be out early to see this much sunlight on the mountain at this time of year. Most of the day the sun is so far north that this side gets very little.

The starling was about 100 metres from me. It is one of several that fly back and forth between two trees that are closer than the ones in the photo.

There was a gusty nor'wester today, which meant no frost and dry conditions. Apart from the mud, that is. It was a great day for getting the washing dry and for opening up the house to let the wind blow through.
