Walking on Schiehallion
The path up the Schiehallion mountain in Scotland begins with an information board bearing these words:
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into tress. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." John Muir 1901
That sums up walking perfectly to me. It was a VERY misty day on Schiehallion, visibility was down to 15 metres. Still, a great walk on a mountain that translates as 'Fairy Hill of Caledonians'. A little historical nugget is that the mountain was used for a ground-breaking experiment to estimate the mass of the Earth in 1774.
Coming off Schiehallion the mists cleared and the views were glorious!
