Dinner with Dave and Nora

We had a lovely afternoon down in Anacortes at my brother Dave and his wife Nora's house. My brother Steve came along with us. We got there just after three in the afternoon. Dave was getting ready for a trip tonight to Washington DC. He is a regional officer of Kiwanis and is attending a conference there.

We all talked and hung out while Nora completed her preparations for dinner. She and Dave are both gourmet cooks. We love eating there because she likes to try out new recipes on us. We ate dinner on the deck in the sunshine. It was very warm. This photo is the table. You can see the delicious appetizer of rolled prosciutto with arugula and goat cheese inside, corn salad, and Caprese salad (tomato, mozzarella and basil). Later we had a delicious roasted corn chowder and Dave grilled us flank steak. Nora had made strawberry rhubarb crumble for desert. What a yummy dinner.

We managed to play a game of Mexican Train dominoes before and after dinner. I was ahead right up to the very last round when I was soundly trounced and came in second. ;-) Steve drove our car home which was lovely. We went early so Dave could pack for his trip. When we got there Steve and I played a close game of Carcassonne. It was fun. I lost but no matter. We both enjoy games where we can't be sure who's winning.

I do love to spend time with family!
