Smileyworld Art Trail - "Calmness"
Back in January I uploaded (here and here) a couple of blips relating to this art trail, organised in aid of the local hospice. We'd hoped to have time to seek out many of the other exhibits, but we've been so busy that we've not had time to do so - and it finishes on Tuesday so we've missed the chance to see most of them.
However this afternoon we had a walk along the coast from Tynemouth to Cullercoats and came across this one at Cullercoats. It's by an artist called Guy McKinley and is entitled "Calmness". The explanation reads:
"For Guy, his thoughts always lean into nature when thinking of something calming with rich scents, sounds, colour and forms that you find there. By submerging yourself within it, it can adjust all your senses and give a sense of calm. Focussing on a moment in microcosm such as a late summer breeze that bends the head of a dandelion and the seeds are pushed on their way, a moment of calm in the wild."
In our busy world this sounds like good advice!
