Look twice

The West Bike Route is a bicycle route through Kreis (district) Heinsberg that connects 10 cities within that Kreis. It should be a varied route with few hills. Just right for our first multi-day cycling tour. We have often seen the signs indicating the route when cycling along the Wurm River and it made us curious about it.

The first part goes from just across the border in Germany for a large part along the river. This in itself is a nice trip and I am surprised how it could have been so bad along the Seine between Fontainebleau and just before Troyes when we were there last summer.
From the crossing of the river Roer the roads will be unknown. That will be tomorrow.
