Magnolia × soulangeana

For a change we visited a local nursery, Larch Cottage Nurseries Melkinthorpe.  The girls bought Clickychick some gift vouchers for Mother's day, and following their ethos of supporting small independent businesses where possible they were for "Melki".  

This trip was to collect the vouchers check how long they are valid for (2years) and start the process of watching the plants to decide what she wants.One thing that struck me was how much further on things are in the midlands to here.  When we were on Solace Magnolias were in full flower, our buds have yet to burst.  Many of Peter's were in flower but the garden where they are is walled.  This one was in a pot so may have been brought on in a polytunnel.

The extra is of a fine fellow who was wandering around among peoples' feet along with his harem.
