Cataract surgery: more trouble than they tell you
Today's focus was taking Sue to the retinologist. The inflammation has resolved, but she needs to keep using the drops four more weeks to be sure it doesn't come back. One eye sees better than the other. She has to wait six weeks before she can get prescription glasses so she can read again. This saga has been going on since December 14, and she has six more weeks to go--and then however long it takes to get new prescription glasses. We're relieved there's no need for additional surgery, and she can drive (she got distance lenses for both eyes). But the breezy talk of "nothing to it," is no longer convincing.
