Cold morning caught the swan family out (-5C). They were all in small opening in the ice, with the usual large clear area a distance away.

Extra - one of the catering staff wisely reported that the plug for a large commercial toaster was very hot when she went to switch it off. As the toaster's being used to provide free breakfasts for those in need, it was a priority job to try and have it ready for the next session, tomorrow morning. The plug was a moulded-on type. Taking out the fuse revealed that one of the fuse-holding connectors was significantly dulled from overheating, and some of the surrounding plastic was just at the point of melting.

Plug was cut off, and a rewireable replacement fitted. Safety and operational tests, all okay. Connected it through an energy monitor gadget, that showed it was taking a fairly hefty current of 11 Amps. The fuse was clean and clamped tight enough in the holder, so it must have been something else. Will dissect the original plug tomorrow, out of curiosity to determine the actual cause.
