Squirrel, Skeikampen
Last buffet breakfast (tomorrow is going to be a let down!) and two lovely squirrels put in an appearance on the bird feeder. Finally got my big camera out again! We then we took the bus to Lillehammer. Stunning scenery all the way as the bus did detours to smaller villages. 55 mins journey.
On arriving in Lillehammer we found that the luggage storage was full. We asked in the station cafe if there was another one and they immediately offered to keep our skis and two rucksacks there until we took the train. It has really struck us how helpful and kind everyone has been. See extras of Lillehammer and the river view from the train.
We planned to have 2.5 hours in Lillehammer to wander around, however, after a few minutes of walking along the pedestrianized street we realized all the shops we closed. We had a coffee in a little cafe and asked about the shops. Everything is closed for Easter, although they will open on Saturday.
We walked on a small path outside the town then headed back to the train station for lunch (sweet potato and bacon soup).
The train was on time; it took just under two hours to the airport. The frozen river was as impressive as on our journey north but sections of it had started to melt. Overnight at the airport ready for an early flight tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who has followed our adventures.
